Unpacking and Setup

Remove all packaging materials and tape. Place on a stable, level surface near a power outlet.

  1. Install toner cartridge: Open front cover, remove packing material, insert toner, close cover.
  2. Load paper: Adjust paper guides in tray, load plain paper face down.
  3. Connect power: Plug power cord into printer and wall outlet.
  4. Power on: Press power button, wait for initialization.
  5. Install drum unit (if separate): Follow on-screen prompts if required.

WARNING! Toner is sensitive to light; avoid prolonged exposure. Keep printer upright during moving.

Control Panel Overview

Loading Paper and Toner

  2. Do not overfill paper tray (max 250 sheets).

Connecting to Network

Wired: Connect Ethernet cable to router and printer port. Wireless: Use control panel or software to join Wi-Fi network.

  1. Wired: Connect cable, printer auto-detects network.
  2. Wireless via panel: Menu > Network > WLAN > Setup Wizard, select SSID, enter password.
  3. Wireless via software: Run Brother installer on computer, follow prompts.
  4. Verify connection: Print network configuration report from menu.

Tip: Place printer within range of Wi-Fi router for stable connection.

Printing and Copying

Print from computer: Install driver, select MFC-L5700DW as printer. Copy using control panel.
