Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Place on stable, level surface.

  1. Remove all packaging materials and tapes from inside and outside.
  2. Install toner cartridge: Open front cover, remove cartridge from packaging, shake gently, insert until it clicks.
  3. Load paper: Adjust paper guides in tray, load up to 250 sheets of letter-size paper.
  4. Connect power cord to printer and wall outlet.
  5. Turn on printer using power switch.

WARNING! Do not touch the green drum surface of the toner cartridge. Avoid exposure to direct sunlight or high humidity.

First-Time Setup

Power on printer; follow initial setup prompts on LCD.

  1. Set language: Use Menu button to select Language, choose ENGLISH.
  2. Set date and time: Navigate to Settings > General Setup > Date & Time.
  3. Install drivers: Insert included CD or download from Brother website, follow on-screen instructions.

Faxing: Enter number using keypad, press Fax Start. Program speed dials. Set fax resolution (Standard/Fine). Receive mode can be auto or manual.

Broadcast Fax: Send to multiple numbers. Delayed Fax: Schedule transmission.

Maintenance & Supplies

Replace toner when low. Clean printer periodically.

  1. Toner Replacement: Open front cover, remove old cartridge, insert new TN-760 cartridge, close cover.
  2. Cleaning: Turn off and unplug. Wipe exterior with dry cloth. Clean scanner glass with soft, lint-free cloth.
  3. Paper Jam Clearing: Follow guided messages on LCD, open rear cover or duplex unit, remove jammed paper gently.
