Unpacking and Installation

Unpack all components and place on a stable, level surface near a power outlet and network connection if needed.

  1. Remove all tape and packing materials from inside and outside the printer.
  2. Install the toner cartridge: Open front cover, remove cartridge from packaging, shake gently, insert until it clicks, close cover.
  3. Load paper: Pull out paper tray, adjust guides, load up to 250 sheets of letter-size paper, push tray back in.
  4. Connect power cord and plug into AC outlet.

WARNING! Do not touch the green drum surface of the toner cartridge. Avoid placing printer in humid or dusty locations.

Initial Setup and Configuration

Power on the printer; follow prompts on the control panel LCD.

  1. Set language and country: Use the control panel buttons to navigate and select preferences.
  2. Connect to network: For wireless, use WPS or manual setup via control panel or software.
