Installation & Setup

Unpack and inspect contents. Place on stable, level surface near power outlet and network connection.

  1. Remove packaging materials and tape from printer interior.
  2. Install ink tanks: Open ink tank cover, insert tanks until they click into place.
  3. Load paper: Adjust paper guides in tray, load up to 250 sheets.
  4. Connect power: Plug power cord into printer and wall outlet.
  5. Turn on printer: Press power button, follow on-screen prompts.
  6. Install printhead: Printer will automatically install and align printhead.
  7. Connect to computer: Use USB cable, wireless setup, or Ethernet cable.

Loading Ink Tanks:

  1. Open ink tank cover on front of printer.
  2. Remove ink tank from packaging, remove protective tape.
  3. Insert tank into correct color slot (black, cyan, magenta, yellow).
  4. Push down until it clicks into place.
  5. Close ink tank cover.

Tip: Always use genuine Brother ink tanks for optimal performance.

Printing Operations

Supports printing from computer, mobile devices, USB memory, and cloud services.

  1. From computer: Open document, select Print, choose Brother MFC-J5920DW.
  2. From mobile: Use Brother iPrint&Scan app, Apple AirPrint, or Google Cloud Print.
  3. From USB: Insert USB drive, select Print from USB on touchscreen.
