Installation & Setup

Unpack and inspect contents. Place on a stable, level surface near a power outlet and within reach of your network.

  1. Install Ink Cartridges: Open front cover, remove protective materials, insert cartridges until they click.
  2. Load Paper: Adjust paper guides in tray, load up to 250 sheets of plain paper.
  3. Connect Power: Plug power cord into printer and wall outlet.
  4. Turn On: Press power button; follow on-screen prompts for initial setup.
  5. Connect to Computer/Network: Use USB cable, Wi-Fi setup wizard, or Ethernet cable.

WARNING! Do not touch ink nozzles or copper contacts. Handle cartridges with care to avoid leaks.

First-Time Configuration

Power on printer; follow on-screen setup wizard.

  1. Language/Region: Select language, country, and time zone.
  2. Network Setup: Choose connection method (Wi-Fi, Ethernet, USB). For Wi-Fi, select network and enter password.

Connecting to Network

Wi-Fi: Use WPS or manual setup via touchscreen. Ethernet: Connect cable to router and printer.

  1. From Home screen, tap [Settings] > [Network] > [Wireless].
  2. Select your network from list, enter password.
  3. For WPS, press router's WPS button, then select [WPS] on printer.
  4. For Ethernet, connect cable; IP address will be assigned automatically (DHCP).

Tip: Print a Network Configuration Report to verify connection and view IP address.

Printing & Copying

Supports various paper types and sizes.

  1. Print from Computer: Ensure driver is installed; select "Brother MFC-J5330DW" as printer.
  2. Print from Mobile: Use Brother iPrint&Scan app, Apple AirPrint, or other supported apps.
  3. Copy: Place original in ADF or on glass; use touchscreen to adjust settings; press Start.
  4. Duplex Printing/Copying: Enable in print driver or copy settings for automatic 2-sided output.
  5. Adjust Quality: Select Draft, Normal, or High Quality in print settings.

  1. Scan: Place document; from Home, tap [Scan]; choose destination and format (PDF, JPEG).

  3. Fax Forward: Set up to forward received faxes to another number or email.

Note: For scanning to computer, ensure Brother software is installed.

Maintenance & Care

Unplug before cleaning exterior. Use soft, dry cloth; do not use alcohol or solvents.

Routine Tasks: Clean print head via touchscreen if print quality declines. Run nozzle check periodically. Replace ink cartridges when prompted.
