Unpacking and Setup

Remove all packaging materials and inspect contents. Place on a flat, stable surface near a power outlet.

  1. Install ink cartridges: Open front cover, remove protective tape from cartridges, insert into correct slots.
  2. Load paper: Adjust paper guides in tray, load up to 250 sheets of plain paper.
  3. Connect power: Plug power cord into printer and wall outlet, then turn on power switch.
  4. Install print head: Printer will prompt to install print head; follow on-screen instructions.

WARNING! Do not touch print head nozzles or ink contacts. Keep printer level during setup.

First-Time Configuration

Power on printer; follow initial setup wizard on touchscreen.

  1. Select language: Choose preferred language (default is English).
  2. Align print head: Printer will automatically print and scan alignment page.
  3. Set date/time: Enter current date and time for fax functions.
  4. Connect to network: Choose wireless or wired connection method.

  3. Manual setup: Select SSID from list, enter password using touchscreen keyboard.
  4. Wired connection: Connect Ethernet cable to printer and router, wait for IP address assignment.

Printing and Copying
