Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Place on a stable, level surface near power outlet and computer/network.

  1. Install toner cartridge: Open front cover, remove packing material, insert cartridge until it clicks.
  2. Load paper: Pull out paper tray, adjust guides, load paper (face up), reinsert tray.
  3. Connect power: Plug power cord into rear of unit, then into grounded outlet.
  4. Connect to computer/network: Use USB cable for direct PC connection or Ethernet cable for network.

WARNING! Device is heavy; lift with care using handles. Ensure ventilation space around unit.

First-Time Setup

Power on device; follow on-screen prompts on LCD panel.

  1. Initial startup: Power on, wait for "Ready" message. Device will perform self-test.
  2. Set language/region: Use MENU button to select LANGUAGE, choose ENGLISH (default).
  3. Set date/time: Navigate to SYSTEM SETUP > DATE/TIME, enter current values.

  3. Print Network Configuration Report to verify IP address (MENU > REPORT > CONFIGURATION).
  4. Install network drivers on each computer using installation CD or downloaded software.

Tip: For static IP, choose MANUAL in TCP/IP menu and enter IP, subnet, gateway.

Printing & Copying

Supports standard and advanced print/copy jobs.

  1. Printing: Send job from computer. Use printer properties for duplex, toner save, watermark.
  2. Copying: Place original on glass or in ADF. Use control panel to set number of copies, density, reduce/enlarge, then press START.
  3. Special copy features: N-up (2/4 pages per sheet), booklet, ID card copy, poster.
  4. Interrupt mode: Press COPY during a print job to pause and make copies, then resume.
  5. Toner save mode: Reduces toner usage for draft documents (MENU > SYSTEM > TONER SAVE).

WARNING! Do not look directly at laser beam inside device. Allow hot surfaces to cool before servicing.

Scanning & Faxing

Scan to email, network folder, or USB; send/receive faxes.

Scanning: 1. Place document. 2. Press SCAN button. 3. Select destination (Email, Network, USB). 4. Set format (PDF, JPEG). 5. Press START.

Faxing: 1. Load document. 2. Dial number using keypad or speed dial. 3. Press FAX START. 4. For reception, ensure device is in FAX mode (auto or manual).

Fax features: Broadcasting, delayed transmission, 100-page memory, junk fax block.
