Installation & Setup

Unpack and inspect contents. Place on a stable, level surface near a power outlet and network connection.

  1. Install Toner: Open front cover, remove packing material, insert toner cartridge, close cover.
  2. Load Paper: Adjust paper guides in tray, load plain paper (up to 250 sheets).
  3. Connect Power: Plug power cord into printer and wall outlet.
  4. Turn On: Press power button, follow on-screen prompts for initial setup.
  5. Install Software: Insert CD or download drivers from Brother website, follow installation wizard.

WARNING! Do not look directly at laser beam inside printer. Keep hands clear of moving parts during operation.

  2. Receive Fax: Set mode to Fax, auto-answer rings (default 2).
  3. Memory: Stores up to 500 pages if toner/paper runs out.
  4. Broadcast: Send same fax to multiple numbers.

Fax Settings: Adjust resolution, contrast, header information via touchscreen.

Maintenance & Supplies

Toner Replacement: When toner low message appears, open front cover, remove old cartridge, insert new TN-730 toner cartridge, close cover.

Cleaning: Unplug printer. Use dry, lint-free cloth to clean exterior and scanner glass. Do not use alcohol or abrasive cleaners.

Paper Jam Clearing: Follow on-screen guide. Open rear cover, duplex unit, or tray, gently remove jammed paper without tearing.
