Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Place on a stable, level surface near a power outlet and computer/network.

  1. Install toner cartridge: Open front cover, remove packing material, insert cartridge until it clicks.
  2. Load paper: Adjust paper guides in tray, load up to 250 sheets of plain paper.
  3. Connect power cable: Plug into AC outlet and device.
  4. Connect to computer: Use USB cable to connect to PC, or connect Ethernet cable to network router.

WARNING! Do not touch the green drum surface of the toner cartridge. Avoid placing in direct sunlight or humid areas.

First-Time Setup

Power on the device; follow prompts on LCD display.

  1. Install software: Insert driver CD or download from Brother website; follow on-screen instructions.

Faxing: Connect phone line to LINE port. Press FAX, enter number with keypad, press START. Use speed dial, redial, and fax forwarding features. Set up PC-FAX to send faxes directly from computer.

Maintenance & Supplies

Replace toner cartridge when low (LED indicator). Clean exterior with dry cloth; clean scanner glass with soft, lint-free cloth.

Toner Cartridge: Brother TN-750 (standard yield approx. 3,500 pages).

Drum Unit: Brother DR-750 (replace when message appears or image quality degrades).

CAUTION! Use only Brother genuine supplies. Do not refill cartridges. Recycle used cartridges per local regulations.
