Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Place on a stable, level surface near a power outlet.

  1. Install ink cartridges: Open front cover, remove protective tape from cartridges, insert into correct slots until they click.
  2. Load paper: Adjust paper guides in tray, load plain paper face down.
  3. Connect power: Plug power cord into printer and wall outlet.
  4. Connect to computer: Use USB cable or set up wireless/Ethernet connection.

WARNING! Do not touch ink nozzles or copper contacts. Keep printer away from heat sources and direct sunlight.

First-Time Setup

Power on printer; follow on-screen prompts on LCD display.

Printing and Copying

  2. Faxing: Load document, dial number using keypad or speed dial, press START to send.
  3. Receive Fax: Set to auto answer mode; received faxes print automatically or store in memory.
  4. PC-Fax: Send/receive faxes directly from computer using installed software.

Note: For scanning to email, configure email settings in printer software first.

Care & Maintenance

Unplug before cleaning. Use soft, dry cloth for exterior; clean scanner glass with lint-free cloth and glass cleaner if needed.

Ink Cartridge Replacement: Replace when low or empty. Open front cover, press cartridge release lever, remove old cartridge, insert new one until click.

Print Head Cleaning: Use printer software or control panel menu to clean nozzles if print quality declines.

CAUTION! Do not use abrasive cleaners or spray liquids directly on printer. Store ink cartridges in original packaging until use.
