Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Place on stable, level surface near power outlet and computer.

1. Remove all packaging tape and protective materials from inside and outside the unit.
2. Install ink cartridges: Open front cover, insert cartridges into their respective slots until they click.
3. Load paper: Adjust paper guides in input tray, load up to 150 sheets of plain paper.
4. Connect power cord to printer and wall outlet.
5. Connect USB cable to printer and computer (do not connect to computer yet).

WARNING! Do not touch print head or ink cartridge contacts. Keep printer horizontal during installation.

First-Time Setup

Power on printer; follow on-screen prompts on computer.

1. Install software: Insert installation CD or download drivers from Brother website. Follow on-screen instructions.
2. Connect USB cable to computer when prompted by installer.
3. Align print heads: Printer will automatically align cartridges; print alignment page if required.

Controls and Settings
