Installation & Setup

Unpack and inspect all contents. Place on a stable, level surface near a power outlet.

  1. Remove all packaging tape and materials from inside and outside the printer.
  2. Install the toner cartridge: Open front cover, remove cartridge from packaging, shake gently, insert until it clicks.
  3. Load paper: Adjust paper guides in tray, load paper (letter or A4), ensure stack is below max mark.
  4. Connect power: Plug power cord into printer and wall outlet.
  5. Turn on printer using power switch.
  6. Install software: Use provided CD or download drivers from Brother website.

WARNING! Printer is heavy; lift with care using two people. Keep ventilation openings unobstructed.

Loading Paper & Toner

Loading Paper:

  1. Pull out paper tray completely.
  2. Adjust guides to paper size.
  3. Fan paper stack, load print side down.
  4. Push tray back in until it clicks.

Replacing Toner Cartridge:

  1. Open front cover.
  2. Pull out old cartridge.
  3. Unpack new cartridge, shake 5-6 times horizontally.
  4. Insert new cartridge until it locks.
  5. Close front cover.

Tip: Use only Brother Genuine TN-341/ TN-347 toner cartridges. Recycle empty cartridges.

Connecting to Network

Wireless Setup:

  1. From control panel: Menu > Network > Wireless > Setup Wizard.
  2. Select your network from list, enter password using navigation keys.
  3. Alternatively, use WPS: Press and hold Go (WPS) button on printer, then press WPS button on router within 2 minutes.

Wired Ethernet:

  1. Connect Ethernet cable from router to printer's LAN port.
  2. Printer will automatically obtain IP address (DHCP).

Verifying Connection: Print Network Configuration Report from menu to check IP address.

Printing from Various Devices

From Computer: Install full driver software for advanced features.

Mobile Printing:

USB Printing: Connect directly via USB cable for single computer use.

WARNING! Ensure printer is on same network as your device for wireless printing.

Maintenance & Cleaning

Unplug printer before cleaning exterior.

  1. Exterior: Wipe with soft, dry cloth. Do not use alcohol or solvents.
  2. Interior: Open front cover, gently wipe away toner dust with lint-free cloth.
  3. Paper Path: Clear any debris if paper jams occur.
  4. Rollers: Clean with damp cloth if paper feed issues arise.

CAUTION! Do not touch the green surface of the drum unit. Avoid direct sunlight and high humidity.
