Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Place on stable, level surface near power outlet and computer.

  1. Remove packaging: Take off all tape and protective materials.
  2. Install toner cartridge: Open front cover, remove cartridge from bag, shake gently, insert until click.
  3. Load paper: Adjust paper guides in tray, load up to 250 sheets of plain paper.
  4. Connect power: Plug power cord into printer and wall outlet.

WARNING! Do not touch the green drum surface inside the printer. Avoid placing in direct sunlight or humid areas.

First-Time Setup

Power on printer; install software from CD or download from Brother website.

  1. Connect to computer: Use USB cable to connect printer to computer.

  4. Clean interior: Use lint-free cloth to remove paper dust; avoid touching drum.
