Installation & Setup

Unpack and inspect contents. Place on stable, level surface near power outlet and network connection.

Remove all packaging materials and tapes from inside and outside the printer.
Install the toner cartridge: Open front cover, remove packing material, insert cartridge until it clicks.
Load paper: Adjust paper guides in tray, load plain paper (up to 250 sheets).
Connect power cable and Ethernet cable (for network).
Power on the printer and install drivers from included CD or Brother website.

WARNING! Do not touch the green surface of the drum unit. Avoid exposure to direct sunlight or high humidity.

Control Panel & Settings

Access menus and functions via the control panel buttons and LCD display.

Printing Documents

From your application, select File > Print.
Choose "Brother DCP-L5500DN" as the printer.

Click Print. The Data LED will blink while processing.

Copying Documents

Use the flatbed glass or optional Automatic Document Feeder (ADF).

The printer will automatically obtain an IP address (DHCP).
Print a Network Configuration Report (Menu > Report > Network Config) to verify the IP address.
