Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Place on a stable, level surface near a power outlet.

  1. Remove all packaging materials and tapes from inside and outside the printer.
  2. Install the toner cartridge: Open front cover, remove cartridge from packaging, shake gently, and insert until it clicks.
  3. Load paper: Adjust paper guides in the input tray and load up to 250 sheets of plain paper.
  4. Connect power cable to the printer and plug into a grounded AC outlet.
  5. Connect to computer via USB cable or set up network/wireless connection.

WARNING! Do not touch the green drum inside the toner cartridge. Avoid placing printer in dusty or humid locations.

First-Time Setup

Power on the printer; follow on-screen prompts or installation wizard.

  1. Install drivers: Insert the provided CD or download latest drivers from Brother website.
  2. Configure network: Use control panel to connect to Wi-Fi or Ethernet network.

Maintenance & Supplies
