Installation & Setup

Unpack and inspect contents. Place on a stable, level surface near a power outlet and within reach of your network.

  1. Remove all packaging materials and tapes from inside and outside the printer.
  2. Install the toner cartridge: Open front cover, remove cartridge from packaging, shake gently, insert until it clicks.
  3. Load paper: Pull out paper tray, adjust guides, load paper (letter or A4), push tray back in.
  4. Connect power cord and plug into AC outlet.
  5. Turn on the printer using the power switch.

WARNING! Toner powder may be harmful if inhaled; avoid shaking cartridge vigorously outside printer. Ensure proper ventilation.

First-Time Configuration

Power on printer; follow on-screen prompts on the LCD display.

  1. Select language: Use arrow keys on control panel to choose language, press OK.
  2. Set date and time: Navigate to Settings > General Setup > Date & Time.
  3. Install print driver: Insert included CD or download latest driver from Brother website, follow installation wizard.

Printing & Copying

  1. Printing from PC: Select Brother DCP-L2560DW as printer, adjust properties as needed (duplex, quality).
