Installation & Setup

Unpack and inspect contents. Place on stable, level surface near power outlet and network source.

  1. Install Ink Tanks: Remove protective seals, insert color-coded tanks until they click.
  2. Load Paper: Adjust paper guides in tray, load plain paper print-side down.
  3. Power Connection: Connect AC power cord to printer and wall outlet.
  4. Initial Startup: Power on printer; allow initialization and ink charging (may take several minutes).
  5. Install Software: Insert CD or download drivers from Brother website; follow on-screen instructions for USB or network connection.

WARNING! Do not touch ink nozzles or copper contacts. Place printer in a well-ventilated area.

Loading Paper & Media

  2. Load paper: Place print-side down, stack neatly below max mark.
  3. Special media: Use manual feed slot for envelopes, labels, cards; adjust lever for thickness.
  4. Select paper type: On control panel or print driver, match setting to loaded media.

Tip: Fan paper before loading to prevent sticking. Do not overload tray.

Printing Tasks

Print from computer, mobile device, or USB flash drive.

  1. From Computer: Open document, select Brother DCP-J772DW printer, adjust settings (quality, duplex, paper size), click Print.
  2. From Mobile: Install Brother iPrint&Scan app; connect to same Wi-Fi network; select document or photo to print.
  3. USB Direct: Insert USB drive into front port; browse files on touchscreen; select and print.

Send and receive faxes using built-in Super G3 fax.

  1. Connect phone line: Use included cable to connect LINE port to wall jack.

  3. Send fax: Place document in ADF, dial number using keypad or speed dial, press Start (Black).
  4. Receive fax: Set to Auto mode for automatic reception; manual mode to answer calls.
  5. Access memory: View sent/received faxes from fax log on control panel.

Note: Ensure phone line is connected to LINE port, not TEL port for extension.

Network Setup

Connect via Ethernet cable or wireless network.

  1. Wired: Connect Ethernet cable from router to printer's LAN port.
  2. Wireless: Use control panel: Network > Wireless > Setup Wizard; select network, enter password.
  3. Wi-Fi Direct: Enable to connect mobile devices directly without router.
