Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Place on stable, level surface near power outlet.

  1. Remove all packaging materials and tapes from printer interior.
  2. Install toner cartridge: Open front cover, remove protective tape, insert cartridge until it clicks.
  3. Load paper: Adjust paper guides in tray, load up to 250 sheets of plain paper.
  4. Connect power cord to printer and wall outlet.
  5. Connect to computer via USB cable or network via Ethernet cable.

WARNING! Do not touch the green drum surface of the toner cartridge. Avoid placing printer in dusty or humid locations.

First-Time Setup

Power on printer; follow on-screen prompts or installation wizard.

  1. Install drivers: Insert included CD or download from Brother website.
  2. Configure network (if using Ethernet): Use control panel to set IP or enable DHCP.
