Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Place on stable, level surface near power outlet.

  1. Remove all packaging materials and tape from inside and outside the printer.
  2. Install toner cartridges: Open front cover, remove protective tape from cartridges, insert in correct color slots (C, M, Y, K).
  3. Load paper: Adjust paper guides in input tray, load plain paper.
  4. Connect power cable to printer and wall outlet.
  5. Connect to computer via USB cable or set up network connection.

WARNING! Toner cartridges are sensitive to light; keep them in original packaging until installation. Avoid touching the green drum surface.

First-Time Setup

Power on printer; follow on-screen prompts on computer.

  1. Install drivers: Insert installation CD or download from Brother website, follow wizard.
  2. Network setup: For wireless, use WPS button or manual configuration via control panel.

  2. Press SCAN button, select destination (Scan to PC, Email, Network).
  3. Adjust settings: Resolution, color mode, file format (PDF, JPEG, etc.).
  4. Press START to scan.

Maintenance & Care

Unplug before cleaning exterior. Use dry, lint-free cloth. Clean interior as needed.

  1. Cleaning: Wipe exterior with damp cloth (not wet). Clean scanner glass with soft cloth and glass cleaner.
  2. Toner Replacement: Replace when LCD indicates low or empty. Use genuine Brother TN-210 series cartridges.
  3. Drum Unit: Replace DR-210 drum unit after approx. 12,000 pages.
  4. Paper Jam Clearing: Follow guide in manual; open rear cover, duplex unit, or paper trays to remove jammed paper gently.
