Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Place on stable, level surface near power outlet.

  1. Remove all packaging materials and tape from printer.
  2. Install ink cartridges: Open cartridge cover, insert cartridges in correct slots (Black, Cyan, Magenta, Yellow).
  3. Load paper: Adjust paper guides in input tray, load plain paper.
  4. Connect power: Plug power cord into printer and wall outlet.
  5. Connect to computer: Use USB cable to connect printer to computer.

WARNING! Do not touch print head or ink cartridge contacts. Keep printer away from heat sources and direct sunlight.

First-Time Setup

Power on printer; follow on-screen prompts on computer.

  1. Install software: Insert installation CD or download drivers from Brother website.

WARNING! Do not open covers during printing/copying. Allow prints to dry before handling.

Scanning Documents

  5. Press OK to start scanning.
